Competency Workshops
Whether you are requesting our ongoing equity series or asking for a specific event such as a workshop, educational forum, keynote presentation, an event, or general consultation, we are here to collaborate and assist you in your efforts. Our services are designed to increase competency and establish a basic understanding of underlying systemic issues in our society.
The Culture C.O.-O.P. has created a paradigm for transforming individuals, communities, and systems. We encourage individuals to envision strategies for impact from a holistic perspective. This paradigm, along with the Cost of Darkness documentary, can be completed in parts or in one session.

These presentations focus on laying a foundation for understanding the importance of historical factors and how they affect societal systems. Participants are encouraged to do exercises provided in take-home packets that explore the subject in greater depth. This service provides participants with a foundational understanding of critical dynamics that affect our ability to serve vulnerable populations. It gives examples of practices, strategies, and policies necessary to create healthy organizations that effectively serve multiple populations. “Equity 101 is a prerequisite for all of the more advanced services.”
This is a service offered for managing forums on sensitive topics. We will assist your organization by leading the forum as a calm, neutral, third-party member. We will create an honest and respectful environment in which people can safely share their feelings and concerns. With our assistance, these forums allow participants to move forward in proactive and constructive ways.
The Culture C.O.-O.P. partners with creative organizations using the arts to impact their local neighborhoods . We generate and support creative writing, theater, storytelling, music, and other artistic expressions to inspire change. Our organization works with youth, adults, and their larger communities to encourage creative approaches that address difficult issues. We believe the arts, in combination with a comprehensive approach, can make a world of difference.
Anyone can request our series for life skills development, including our program S.O.A.R.. Our aim is to lay a foundation for people to be able to reach their goals, overcome adversity, and begin to change inequitable environments. We utilize a variety of tools such as workshops, youth/adult development experiences, presentations, community service, mentorship.. **We also offer a parent based seminar that discusses how to increase parent involvement in schools and community organizations
This full-day workshop facilitates team-building for organizations. These workshops are designed to increase trust and encourage conflict resolution among co-workers. Attendees participate in a variety of exercises that address common workplace issues.
