Our Director
Sandy is a nationally recognized speaker and advocate for equitable practices. She shares her expertise on topics including systemic injustices, the achievement gap, and holistic approaches for improving societal outcomes.
Despite her global impact, Sandy remains deeply committed to her local community, earning the City of Davis, California’s Citizen of the Year Award in 2022.
She’s also an accomplished author who shares her powerful message of respect and cultural awareness through her stories.
Sandy received her BA in Psychology from UC Davis and a MS in School Counseling from California State University, Sacramento.

The Ida B. Wells Risk Taker Award is awarded by the National Alliance of Black School Educators. The award intends to recognize those who have undertaken a professional and personal sacrifice for the educational advancement of African Americans.
